Flash Verify reads the IC chip of a My Number Card or Residence Card via NFC to perform online identity verification (eKYC). This page explains how to use the app and answers frequently asked questions.

Requirements

• An NFC-capable iPhone (iPhone 7 or later)
• iOS 16 or later
• A supported IC card (My Number Card / Residence Card)
• A network connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)

How to Use

1. Phone verification: Enter your mobile phone number and the verification code sent by SMS.
2. Choose a verification method: Select My Number Card or Residence Card.
3. Photograph the document: Capture the front (and back, for the Residence Card) and a selfie.
4. NFC reading:
   • Residence Card: enter the 12-character card number and hold the card against the top of the iPhone to read it.
   • My Number Card: enter the 4-digit user-certificate PIN and hold the card against the top of the iPhone to read it.
5. Review and save: Check the result and tap “Save” to finish.

FAQ

NFC won’t read my card

• Hold the card against the top of the iPhone (near the camera).
• Remove thick phone cases and try again.
• Keep the card still for a few seconds while reading.
• If other NFC features interfere, restart the app.

It says “camera permission required”

• Enable it in iPhone Settings → Flash Verify → Camera.

I didn’t receive the SMS code

• Check that your phone number is correct.
• If it doesn’t arrive after a few minutes, tap “Resend.”
• Check your spam-SMS filter settings.

Errors with the card number / PIN

• The Residence Card number is the 12 characters at the top right of the card (2 letters + 8 digits + 2 letters).
• Entering the My Number Card PIN incorrectly several times locks it; if locked, it must be reset at your municipal office.

Errors when saving

• Check your network connection and try again.
• If it persists, contact the support address below.

• Residence Card (including the Special Permanent Resident Certificate)
